How much does it cost to land a plane at a small airport? Pay for tie down? Pay for time parked there? Etc.

I hope to be a licensed pilot in the next 6 to 8 months and when I get my license I plan to buy a small plane. I am curious as to what it costs when you fly from airport to airport--other than fuel of course? I'm sure there is some kind of fee for landing at someone's airport. How much does it cost to land a plane at a small airport? Pay for tie down? Pay for time parked there? Etc.Only the largest airline hub airports charge a landing fee and that is intended to discourage small planes from mixing it up with the heavy iron. Public use airports are partly funded by the FAA trust fund and do not charge landing fees. They do however have overnight tie down fees which range from a dollar or two to twenty or so for larger aircraft. Your home base airport will also rent tie downs or hangars and you should check that out with the airport office because there may be a waiting list and you want your name on it now!

Good luck on the license but remember that that ticked is really just the beginning of learning aviation! How much does it cost to land a plane at a small airport? Pay for tie down? Pay for time parked there? Etc.
At Essondon Airport in Victoria, Australia, a cessna (spelling) costs around $20-$40 - to land And double that for take off.

How much does it cost to land a plane at a small airport? Pay for tie down? Pay for time parked there? Etc.I think that you uasally pay a landing fee that counts the entire visit. Plus maybe a standig fee (or maybe a overnight fee) if youre in for a longer stay. I think that the fees arent splitted up into many small things or the pilots would spending their day trying to make their bills correct! Sometimes you can be in for one landing fee and one departure fee or whatever its called. Then there is the area of taxes... JohanHow much does it cost to land a plane at a small airport? It depends on the airport. Check the Airport Facility Directory to see if the airport charges some sort of fee. Most small airports I have been to don't, but the larger ones do..

Good luck, and hope you get your certificate.....How much does it cost to land a plane at a small airport? Pay for tie down? Pay for time parked there? Etc.Most general aviation airports do not charge a landing fee because part of the revenue from the gas you purchase at that airport pays for the airport upkeep. If you do plan to stay over night most likely you will be charged a "tie down" fee for your over night parking spot. How much does it cost to land a plane at a small airport? Pay for tie down? As a former airport manager we based our fees on the size of the aircraft ie. single, twin. turbo-prop, jet and the length of the stay. Some airports/FBO's waive the fee if you purchase fuel. You can check the AOPA AIRPORT GUIDE or call the airport/FBO office before you take off to find out what fees they'll charge. Some airports don't charge anytrhing. Note: if you're planning on landing at a major airport such as JFK, LGA, or LAX etc. expect to pay a lot!
