My family on vacation and the plane ride is almost four hours long- do you have any other ideas other than books and i-pods?What are fun things for kids on a plane ride?Let them have the window seats, they'll probably love the view. Furthermore, bring them some books etc.
Which airline are you flying with? Some do give children things to play with!What are fun things for kids on a plane ride?Bring them cards to play card games with....bring notebook paper, drawing paper, coloring books and crayons/markers/colored pencils...
But i don't know your kids so idk if this is best for them
