I am 14 and looking in on a car for me when i turn 16. I want a suzuki samurai. can anyone tell me the details about it and pros and consI want a suzuki samurai...can anyone tell me the specs on them???
Too many specs to respond here. For all specs purchase a Haynes or Chilton "Sammy" specific manual from any major auto parts store. Pros and cons. Low power for Highway driving. High risk for rolling the vehicle. Parts are becoming harder to locate. Poor fit and finish and expect leaks during wet weather.White knuckle driving when in high crosswind situations. Some of the pros are...they are relatively easy to work on. They are fun to drive if you aren't in hurry. Quite a lot of aftermarket performance upgrades are available from aftermarket suppliers. Reasonable fuel mileage. Unique style.I want a suzuki samurai...can anyone tell me the specs on them???
There is one stat that you need to know.
They are dealth-traps!!!

I have a 1988 Suzuki Samurai. After sitting for a few years, it starts right up. But it quits when accelerated?
What could be wrong with it?I have a 1988 Suzuki Samurai. After sitting for a few years, it starts right up. But it quits when accelerated?
First the basics: You DID drain the old gasoline and replace it? Right?
First check the fuel filter; it may be clogged and restricting fuel flow. Since they're cheap, just change it.I have a 1988 Suzuki Samurai. After sitting for a few years, it starts right up. But it quits when accelerated?
needs tune-up, especially the carburetor.
remove carburetor for cleaning.
check / adjust contact points and condenser if equipped with conventional distributor assy.
check/replace air cleaner.
check/replace fuel and fuel filter.
check / adjust sparkplugs.
check / clean PCV valve.
check engine compression, intake or exhaust valves may not be seating properly..
its a suzuki, thats your problem.I have a 1988 Suzuki Samurai. After sitting for a few years, it starts right up. But it quits when accelerated?
The carburetor's jets might be dirty.
I don't remember if carb or injected, but all cars need extra gas when accelerating.
All carbs have an accelerator pump, with a diaphram that cracks or gets stiff. You should be able to see it squirt out of a little tube into the carb throat when you take off the air cleaner and look down, while pumping. (open the choke by hand, so it does not block your view)
But you should also check the fuel pump pressure, (carb or injection), and replace the fuel filter.
A smaller possibility is the vacuum advance on the distributer. Check if it leaks or holds air by sucking on the hose and seeing if the suction stays.just tires

Is the Suzuki Samurai or Sidekick a good car?
I'm 18 and looking for my first car. I lover jeep-looking cars but need to go cheaper, and I really like the look of the old Samurai's and Sidekicks.
Are they good first cars? Reliable? Good on gas? Is there any common danger or defect with these kind of cars?
Anything else I should know?
thank youIs the Suzuki Samurai or Sidekick a good car?
I drive a 1993 Geo tracker that has been one of the most reliable, fun and economic vehicles I've ever owned.
If you have questions about it there are several forums out there for samurais and trackers.

There is no simple answer to your question because no matter how good the manufacturer is, everything becomes suspect once it is used. If a vehicle has been neglected, damaged by accident or flood, or worse, rebuilt, it does not matter if it was once the greatest on Earth. When shopping used, try to find the real deal, not a detailed, cleaned up, former mess. Serious shopping is work, but it saves real money. Spend some time on dealer lots %26amp; ask friends about their cars, in order to get ideas.
When inspecting a used car always check the OIL for level, smell %26amp; feel, ATF- color/feel/smell [if it's burnt, so is the trans] COOLANT look for contamination [if ATF in coolant, walk away], BRAKE FLUID-if its black it is overdue for flush, look down the sides for sanding marks, waves or color changes indicating repair, look in trunk for water marks. Run a Carfax %26amp; have a shop or used car inspection service check out the vehicle before purchase.
I used to work for a company, in Texas, that inspected Used Cars for the buyer, at their expense. We once worked with a local TV station, investigating classified ads for cars. The disappointing result was that 90% of the ads were run by resellers [aka Curbstoners]. Many of them posing as if they had owned the car for years. So be a serious shopper, don't get excited about appearances.

As to "certified" I've seen, 1st hand, where that was nothing more than a piece of paper w/check marks. Not true of all dealerships, but some.
Extended warranties are only good if they are from the manufacturer, still read it closely. All of the others have too many exclusions in the fine print, they're a complete waste of money.

What kind of gas mileage would this get its a rock crawler and its a suzuki samurai, good daily driver?
Also what kind of problems do these have, are they reliable and do I need a roll cage since they roll so easy, how much is a roll cage and
to have it put in? what do you think about this car good deal?
http://www.ksl.com/index.php?sid=%26amp;nid=443%26amp;tab=list/view%26amp;ad=1157497What kind of gas mileage would this get its a rock crawler and its a suzuki samurai, good daily driver?
They had very small (1200 cc) engines, which gave great miles per gallon. (about 30 highway if memory serves) The disadvantage was the vehicle had very little acceleration and no top speed which was probably a good thing due to the short wheelbase and high center of gravity. Together that's an accident waiting to happen at highway speeds. The roof panels and "Targa" roof that splits the 2 soft tops in the picture are actually a roll cage. The problem was that in a roll over they whole body would become tweaked. Roll once and never drive straight again.
If you are looking for a toy and plan on driving slow, great. For anything else you're taking your life into your hands. Crawling rocks? I wouldn't, but the narrow vehicle might be able to weave between them. I checked the one linked out and it's been modded to be pretty decent, but that picture is obviously staged and not real rock climbing. You get that thing leaning and it will go over sideways. The larger (1500cc) engine from a Sidekick gives it more torque, (and lower mpg) but it's still in the skinny body. (The wider, longer Sidekick replaced the Samari because of the roll over problem and lawsuits against Suzuki.)
For desert, snow or even swampy off roading I'd go for one. For rock climbing or running steep side hills, I'd be very afraid of this vehicle.dmv hours

Does anyone know who put out the vehicle equivalent to the suzuki samurai but it was called a Rocky?
The Rocky was made by Daihatsu between 1987 and 1998 where it was succeeded by the Terios.
In export markets the Rocky you were referring to was actually called the Feroza because Rocky was the name given to the larger "Rugger", made between 1984 and 2002.Does anyone know who put out the vehicle equivalent to the suzuki samurai but it was called a Rocky?

Why was the Suzuki Samurai discontinued?
They are such great cars and everybody I know likes them. It seems strange that such a fun and great car would be discontinued. Why was the Suzuki Samurai discontinued?
the answer is Consumer Reports did testing on the lil Samurai's and stated in their "findings" that they were easy to flip. and likely to lose control in an "accident avoidance manuver" or high speed lane change. Fact is they skewed the results, changed data to fail the Suzuki. I have owned a few sami s and love em. they drive very solid. just don't try to drive it like a vette. lol it is a SUV after all.
They sold really well until the mid 90s. Then everyone stopped buying them. People began to feel the need to drive safer cars. The Samurai was replaced by the uselss X-90 in North America. But it is actually still sold in South America and probably elsewhere as well. Why was the Suzuki Samurai discontinued?
The Governments felt that Suzuki Samurai is dangerous for those who drive it like a Corvette. Since it is imported vehicle, a great reason to stop selling to North American.
They were unsafe and rolled easily.
They were replaced by the Vitara / Grand Vitara / Vitara convertible which was heavily overengineered to be stable around corners. Why was the Suzuki Samurai discontinued?
The question should be why were they ever built...
the stupid government says it was to easy to roll over. if people would drive normal all cars would not roll over.google crome

Samurai suzuki only tops out at 40 mph, its a sticks shift and it boggs down when shifting in all the gears?
suzuki samurai boogs down and tops out at only 40mph help!!!Samurai suzuki only tops out at 40 mph, its a sticks shift and it boggs down when shifting in all the gears?
It would help to know if this happened suddenly or if it was a gradual change. Two possibilities come to mind, especially since you describe it as bogging down rather than shaking horribly when you try to go faster.
The first is timing. If the timing belt or chain has jumped one notch it will severely limit the power. It would have been a very sudden change - one day it was normal and the next it was not - and it would now be hard to start and hard to keep running.
The second is a serious exhaust restriction, usually from a damaged catalytic converter. In that case it would have come on more gradually, would start and idle okay, but would not develop power. This sounds more like the description. The definitive test is to loosen the bolts that attach the exhaust system to the exhaust manifold (the collector fitting) so there is a large gap, and either duct tape the exhaust hose of a shop vac to the tailpipe or try blowing into the tailpipe. The shop vac should produce a loud and powerful flow of air from the gap, or if you blow into it you should not feel any significant back pressure. (Now wash the black ring from your face.) An exhaust as badly restricted as you describe will feel like blowing through a large drinking straw.Samurai suzuki only tops out at 40 mph, its a sticks shift and it boggs down when shifting in all the gears?
Could be quite a few different things causing your problem. Catalytic converter, maybe. Fuel filter starting to get clogged, maybe. Carb base loose, sucking in air, maybe. Just needs a tune up, maybe. All of the above, maybe! None of the above, maybe!! You may have to bite the bullet and take it to a garage or to someone who can check it out for you. It's probably not a real big expensive fix.
Good luck.

I have a ford f250 and i'm loading my suzuki samurai into the bed.?
I need to get the samurai to the other side of the mountains but have no way to haul it. so i have loaded it into the bed and have it tied down to the max. it fits amd everything, with the tailgate down but it's completely tied in and isn't going anywhere. is this illegal?I have a ford f250 and i'm loading my suzuki samurai into the bed.?
figures, had an old friend in the navy he was samolian and big. he looked like he could wave out both windows at the same time while driving.also i dont think he was quite 6 foot.I have a ford f250 and i'm loading my suzuki samurai into the bed.?
Not illegal if it is secure and inside the bed, I just cant believe that the bed was large enough to fit that vehicle. Just make sure what you used to strap the samari down is strong enough to withstand the weight of the samurai rocking in the back.I have a ford f250 and i'm loading my suzuki samurai into the bed.?
no its not illegal just as long as the the samurai is tied down and will not go no where on you. Don't want it slipping and sliding around on you when you going over those mountains.

Did anyone else out there like the Suzuki Samurai?
I know about the roll thing but I thought it was really cute(including the paneled version) and I miss it.Did anyone else out there like the Suzuki Samurai?
it was a cute little rig. i think it would still be around if suzuki had addressed the roll-over thing more constructively, rather than just denying it over and over and over.
It truly was a decent little vehicle. And putting wider tires on it would've greatly reduced the chances of a roll over.Did anyone else out there like the Suzuki Samurai?
I love it too!!
I had one - great fun, but rather noisy on long journeys. Fuel economy wasn't fantastic for such a small car and engine, either.
I'd have another one, but not as my only transport, more like a weekend toy. They certainly go in the mud alright, though.Did anyone else out there like the Suzuki Samurai?
these vehicles have some potential in the off road world. they are very nimble (they are so narrow you can basically stick your arm out the passenger window while driving). not a bad all around vehicle. although stability was not it's greatest virtue, it handled well if properly controlled. the factory engines were kinda small though... 1.6 litre. i really thought the pickup versions were cool though.pick a part

How fast will a STOCK Suzuki Samurai go ?
Does adding bigger tires help or hurt? How fast will a STOCK Suzuki Samurai go ?
Adding bigger tires will hurt its top speed.
Long, long ago I had an '86 Samurai and it would only go about 80mph with the gas pinned to the firewall on a flat road. There were days where if it was windy it wouldn't begin to hit 75mph on the freeway. Slowest car I ever owned, but it was fairly fun off-road fwiw. How fast will a STOCK Suzuki Samurai go ?
They gorvern at 87mph and bigger tires won't help. Had one before and it was a good running vechile.

CAR QUESTION, need help, where can i find the key ignition for suzuki samurai?
i have lost the only key ignition i have for this car and now I can't drive it so can someone please help know where i can find another one, or how to get a copy. the year of the samurai is 1986. thanks in advance.CAR QUESTION, need help, where can i find the key ignition for suzuki samurai?
Check with a locksmith that has been in business for awhile. The blanks that are needed to make the keys are rare and hard to find. I had one made with a different blank but the locksmith had to do some grinding to make it work.
You could also get a new or used set from the scrapyard or the auto parts store and change out the ignition assembly. It's really not that hard to do.
Good luckCAR QUESTION, need help, where can i find the key ignition for suzuki samurai?
Call a locksmith that makes keys. Usually they can get the key design off the vin. This is an old technique so it may be the best chance considering the age of the rig.
You could call the dealer. If they have records back that far they can get you another key.
If you cant get a key made just tell the dealer you need another ignition switch with keys.CAR QUESTION, need help, where can i find the key ignition for suzuki samurai?

The little Suzuki samurai 4x4 ,how good are they and what kind of parts are available,as for gears and axles?
can you buy lower gears for the front and rear axle's like a low 586 set and what company sells the largest amount of suzuki off road parts in the U.S. thanksThe little Suzuki samurai 4x4 ,how good are they and what kind of parts are available,as for gears and axles?
I've had a Sami for 8 years and it has went from stock to pretty dang amazing! I didn't do the lower gears in the axle thing- I just put a lower geared transfer case in. I got mine from Trail Tough in Medford, Oregon. It was cheaper and easier and very effective.
As far as vendors there are a few- Petroworks,Trail Tough,Calmini, Roadless gear and Rocky Road Outfitters. Theres more but that will get you started.
Now just about any part you could imagine is available so look around and just have fun!
I've taken my truck thru some pretty hairy spots and came out ok so, properly driven, they are very capable .
Good luck and enjoy your Samurai!
UGLY, CRUDE, UNCOMFORTABLE - and SO much fun!
We have several Suzuki's and will probably have several more in months to come. The little Suzuki samurai 4x4 ,how good are they and what kind of parts are available,as for gears and axles?
for driving offroad?
for highway use they are underpowered and because they have to rev so high just to go highway speeds they are horrible on gas...and are not fun to steer....
a quad for offroading and a truck to fit the quad into the back of it ....is better IMO
See www.puresuzuki.com for your answer :)The little Suzuki samurai 4x4 ,how good are they and what kind of parts are available,as for gears and axles?
I've had three different Samis over the years and I loved em all! They're rough and crude, but they're cute and fun.
I have a black front bumper for sale, if any of you readers need one. Just drop me a line.
I have a Sammi that I bought for $450.000 not running and except for the tires, Oil, filter, Radiator hoses and Themostat I have been able to find I any parts I need on line especially on EBAY. Just installed a Remanfactured Head which bought off of EBAY- price better than anything I could find locally.I really enjoy driving mine especially withg the Mesh 'bikini" top during the summer. I may get passed a lot on the Interstate ( top speed about 70 unless modified) but I don't care- It is a fun car. Other parts sources, and many will help with tech info:
Rock Auto
Suzuki Salvage
Parts Dinosaur
Suzukijohn
Calmini
The lowest you can get for a gear ratio is 5.38. They don't make the 5.52 anymore. The best thing to do is rob a 5 speed Tracker for it's 5.12. The auto's had 4.33 I think. But I stole the 5.12s and did a heavy duty axle upgrade on the front. Is not very difficult. Does not require and gear backlashing.

a quad for offroading and a truck to fit the quad into the back of it ....is better IMO
Would a 1jzgte twin turbo toyota supra engine fit in a 1988.5 suzuki samurai?
i have a samurai sittin in my back yard and the motor and carb are all messed up. i think the 1jz would make a fun and interesting motor swap.Would a 1jzgte twin turbo toyota supra engine fit in a 1988.5 suzuki samurai?
If u got time and effort you can make it fit in almost any car. I one saw a 4 wheel supra.Would a 1jzgte twin turbo toyota supra engine fit in a 1988.5 suzuki samurai?
Oh yeah, that drops riiiiiiiight in. That little tiny tranny will handle it reallllllly well.

What is the normal OHMS rating of an 87 Suzuki Samurai oil pressure sending unit at operating tempressure?
If no one can answer, go buy a new one ($7 at Autozone) and if it ohms out the same as your original, with no pressure, I'd take it back. But for 7 bucks, just get a new one. What is the normal OHMS rating of an 87 Suzuki Samurai oil pressure sending unit at operating tempressure?
I would be more concerned about whether the value is changing with pressure at all than what any particular value is.Sensors rarely go bad or out of range, engines do.mini countryman

Can I leave my Suzuki Samurai in 4WD all the time?
Does it affect anything? Can I leave my Suzuki Samurai in 4WD all the time?
You will break things really fast if you are on the road driving around in 4wd.Can I leave my Suzuki Samurai in 4WD all the time?
Not a good idea, the guys are right. Tires going to wear out quicker and suspensions parts and transmission will wear out. It is designed to get you out of tight spot and get it out of gear and normal driving..Can I leave my Suzuki Samurai in 4WD all the time?
It will wear out your tires a lot faster, and that would be hard on the drive train parts.
i do but its a farm vehicle and doesnt go over twenty but they a four wheelin machines

What is different about the 1987 suzuki samurai 'special edition'?
I acquired a sami not too long ago, and it holds the special edition decals. A few of my buddies have them as well, but other models. I've looked all over the internet searching, forums, spec pages ect..and still have no idea why it's the special edition. My friends JX edition is the same everything. The only thing i can think of would be the shocks, but then again I don't know. ThxWhat is different about the 1987 suzuki samurai 'special edition'?
I used to have an '87 JX soft top so I remember the Special Edition was a JX model with different decals, special wheelsand it also had a split fold down rear seats. I think it had chrome bumpers too but other than some cosmetic changes, they were the same. The JX is the top level one that was equipped with: sport seats with see thru headrest, tachometer, digital clock, special pattern on the upholstery and the stereo mount under the dash. I even had the optional factory A/C in mine that really freeze you out. These trucks are slow but they are incredible offroad in stock form- which is why so many people modify them even further. Reliability is a non issue because these trucks are super reliable when they are taken care of. I used to have a customer that had over 350,000 miles on his '86 Samurai with the original engine and tranny. What is different about the 1987 suzuki samurai 'special edition'?
In the 1980s car makers start using "SPECIAL EDITION" as a minor addition they have. It could be chrome on the bumper or carpet kit or power steering. These are marketing strategy over other company.

What place makes the best pizza?
I want Pizza for dinner tonight, but the place I usually get it at went out of business. (it was a little locally owned Italian restaurant)
There's a Papa John's, Pizza Hut, Gino's, Husson's, and Speedway (yeah, believe it or not they sell pizza) nearby, where should I go????What place makes the best pizza?
Gino'sWhat place makes the best pizza?

I've never had any of these ( I live in Bk). Anyways, I guess the pizza hut stuffed crust looks pretty damn good. What place makes the best pizza?
In our area East of Chicago Pizza is our pick, but you may not have one there!
We like Home Run In, Gino's East, Giordano's, and Edwardo's. In Chicago we have the best pizza anywhere and we also have fantastic dinning ares. No brag, just fact. What place makes the best pizza?

pizza hut has a good supreme, papa johns is the best for pineapple and cheese, ginos and husson i am not for sure. I havent ate there before. But Pizza Hut has a great speacial going on right now, internet orders, any size crust or toppings for only 9.99 and the new hershey sticks are the best!!!
I say now Papa Johns. But, we had a Ginos way back in the day in my hometown and I remember it was awesome! Bad location for a restaurant, so it wasn't there very long, so I didn't have it too much of it.Best pizza?
I like Pizza Hut's pan pizza the most. Otherwise their pizzas are a bit too much like imitation Italian non-chains. Papa John's has really great pizza despite the fact that it always looks gross in their ads. Never heard of Ginos or Hussons.
Pizza Hut yummy, I never been to Papa Johns , but I do want to try the whole grain ones, and have you had the grilled pizza at Pizza Hut? Delicious! Wish they served Coke and not Pepsi though.Best pizza?
definitely pizza hut (:
In my opinion, Papa John's makes the best pizza.

What could be the opportunity cost of opening a Papa Gino's?
What could be the opportunity cost of opening a Papa Gino's?
its for school thanksWhat could be the opportunity cost of opening a Papa Gino's?
This is a classic question regarding an opportunity cost. We answered similar questions recently (see the links below).
An "opportunity cost" is an economic term that means "the cost of something in terms of an opportunity forgone (and the benefits which could be received from that opportunity)", or "the most valuable forgone alternative (or highest-valued option forgone)", or the second-best alternative.
The theory was exemplified first by Frederic Bastiat, in his famous parable about a shopkeeper in the 1850's, whose window is broken by a little boy. Briefly, at first, everyone sympathized with the shopkeeper, whose window was broken and who had to spend money to repair the wondow. But soon, townsfolk began to realize that the broken window made work for the glazier, who then bought bread, benefiting the baker, who then bought shoes, benefiting the cobbler, etc. Finally, the onlookers concluded that the little boy was not guilty of vandalism; instead he was a HERO -- a public benefactor, creating economic benefits for everyone!
But, of course, this is a false conclusion, because it ignores the "opportunity cost". Because the shopkeeper had to purchase a new window, the shopkeeper could not buy a dress for his wife, so the seamstress suffered and could not buy bread for her table, so the baker suffered, etc.
At the most basic level, therefore, the opportunity cost is the the "hidden cost" of the "lost opportunity", and it is intimately related to the "law of unintended consequences".
In this case, the opportunity cost of opening a Papa Gino's includes the "lost opportunity" of using the start-up funds and start-up work for other investments or business purposes.
Note: there are three surprisingly good articles at Wikipedia concerning "Opportunity Cost", "Frederic Bastiat", and even the "Parable of the Broken Window". See the cites, below.
Great question. Hope this helps.

My Parents are so Wierd!?
Ok, my sister takes tae kwon do. I used to do it, but not anymore. She went to a tournatment to day, and won a 2nd place trophy for her form, and 3rd place for sparring. I am happy for her, but she is gloating about it! My parents said that she is just too excited. Ha! Sure, okay! The whole day was dedicated to her. She went to Papa Gino's, made us waiste $5 on the janked crane thing, got chocolate bunnies, chose what to eat for dinner, got PAID $40 just for doing it, and slept over our aunts house, and she's SEVEN YEARS OLD! She also getting another joy ride tomorrow. The point? I got into the advanced classes, so I can get any job I can possibly get. What do my parents give me? They are getting me 3 pairs of flipping shoes. WHAT THE HECK IS WRONG WITH THEM? what is better: my future or a stupid sport? I need away to tell them what they are doing, and how a persons future, especially in this economy, is better than getting a few stupid tophies. reply asap please. My Parents are so Wierd!?
What?? Maybe your parents just love your sister more. It happens. Deal with it.My Parents are so Wierd!?
Well what is the problem? They don't actually have to give either of you anything, why are you upset that they are giving you shoes? Are they cheap shoes that you don't like or do you get to pick out what sort of shoes you want? So she got dinner and to sleep at your aunts house, and you are getting three pairs of shoes, they even out. Move on, you sound like you are jealous and bratty and that you are the one with the problem not your parents.
You sound like your bitter and jealous. Your sister is 7 years old and maybe since shes soo young they encourage her so she knows that if she does good in something sshe get what she wants.... But your should be happy you get 3 pairs of shoes and thats alot..well to me it is.... but you need to stop being jealous!!1My Parents are so Wierd!?
uh well if your smart enough and old enough to be in advanced classes than you should know that shes seven she still needs that type of encouragement your old enough to know that your doing good and you dont need a million rewards. you should just keep up the good work.
When I was seven years old, I got a hug for the accomplishments I did.
I'm still curious of why a seven year old needs $40 for. They are over doing it.
Maybe your parents are happy?
I know it's hard but move on and focus on yourself. My Parents are so Wierd!?
I have absolutely no idea what your on about but you should be happy for your sister and i don't think your family is weird at all and besides, how does getting three pairs of flipping shoes effect your future?
Maybe they plan to have a big shindig for you when you graduate, lol. I don't know. This is why I am glad I have no younger siblings lol.
You sound bitter and jealous.
Yes, your parents are overdoing the rewards.
You still sound bitter and jealous though.
'Three pairs of flipping shoes?'
Wow.
You're really ungrateful.
jeez did u talk to ur mom about this
bitter and jealous. and it doesnt matter about the reward. if it was me i wouldnt be rewarding you to want to do good and have a good future. i would stand by your side and guide you to success but the real reward is what you get in school. the knowledge you optain should be the reward. stop thinking theirs a reward to everything. your sister is 7. the least you can do is be happy for her and continue doing good. think about your future and how far you can go with your knowledge. i would be happy with 3 shoes. and so should you. think about the long run.
What?? Maybe your parents just love your sister more. It happens. Deal with it.My Parents are so Wierd!?

Why do most people think you HAVE to tip?
You don't HAVE to. When I was younger I worked at papa gino's in the kitchen and one women was a delivery driver and she told me I should just become a delivery driver instead, they got 9$ an hour PLUS tips. Yet I was making minimum wage at the time- 7.25 an hour.
A tip is just an optional reward for good service.
Another question.. I used to work as a receptionist at a hair salon, and when I was being trained they made me ask the customer if they were using a credit card to ask "Would you like to put the tip on your card?" I thought that was the rudest thing, I was always taught it was rude to ask that, and it was bad etiquette. They assumed they were getting a tip, and the hairdresser's made good money. Why do most people think you HAVE to tip?
u rr right....i think it should be up to the customer if the service was good enough to tip...for instance when i take a taxi right down the street, and its 7 dollars already, which is a lot....why would i tip u for doing ur job....they dont do nething thas extra special...
when i go to dunkin donuts and order box of joe and sandwiches/dpnuts..w/e then i tip like 2 dollars, cause they are working hard to helpme with my order. Why do most people think you HAVE to tip?
It all depends- If my haircut/eyebrows/food/etc was good, i usually lean toward 15%. If I have my food delivered I always tip the same amount. ( except one pizza guy who twice brought me pizza with the cheese all on one half- it was obvious that he applies his brakes frequently in an unsafe manner- I told him his tip was to stp tailgating people). But I think aside from banquets/functions where the tip is already in the price it is ALWAYS optional- folks, if you want a tip- just treat us the way you'd like to be treated.
Simple as that.
At many restaurants, waitresses get paid below the normal minimum wage, and rely on tips to make something approaching a living income. Essentially, the "tip" is a part of the overall cost of serving the food. Without "mandatory tipping," the price of dining experience would be 10-20% higher.
In the case of delivery drivers, sometimes the drivers are expected to pay for gasoline, and tipping offsets that cost.
By and large, though, there doesn't seem to be a lot of logic to the way tipping is usually handled. A tip really ought to be a completely optional thing for generous patrons or exceptional service. There is really very little a pizza deliveryman can do that really justifies being called "exceptional service," so it's pretty stupid that we're expected to tip them.
Soliciting tips, I agree, is fairly rude/unprofessional.Why do most people think you HAVE to tip?
i usually tip someone that i know is making only minimum wage and who is giving me good service. if the service is bad, dont tip and dont be intimidated by people who say "you have to leave at least 15% or more" suki
because the taxman assumes that people in the service industry gets tipped and taxes them above their actual wagesWhy do most people think you HAVE to tip?
tips r optional so it should not be asked or forced its a gift for good service company's who ask for tip is greed

Am I hired to work here or not?
I just got an interview earlier today at papa gino's pizzeria, and it went great me and the boss talked as if we were just talking normally and he made me fill out a W-4 form i think its what it is and a few other things. Gave me the team handbook and sat me down and made me read the requirements for work and all and then gave me questions on it real quick to see if i understood and i answered it all right. so he says he will call me friday or saturday to work next week because of the uniforms that need to arrive. He said if they dont then he cant call me yet. But He gave me the booklet told me to read it and he will give me a call. Am I hired? or Is it just another thing where they say they will call me but really arent interested in letting me work there? Anyway he did say he will get me training next week but ill start off with little hours.Am I hired to work here or not?
You got the job !!!Am I hired to work here or not?
Congrats, you got the job! They would not have gone over all of that hiring paperwork if they didn't hire you. :) As soon as they get your uniforms in, you'll be on the schedule! Again, congrats!!Am I hired to work here or not?
Yes, you have the job - but you will have to wait for the uniform! Call in a few days.Am I hired to work here or not?
yeah . but it may be subject to if they like you in the training/you do well just ask when he callsmr tire

Do I need to tip them?
When I place an order online for delivery at Papa Ginos they charge a $1.75 surcharge for delivery... do I still need to tip the delivery person?Do I need to tip them?
It would be a nice gesture to give the driver a couple of dollars. Delivery charges irk me, but it's not the delivery persons fault.........Do I need to tip them?
Yes. The Big Book of Etiquette says you clearly must tip the driver...the money that Papa Gino's is charging is probably not going to the delivery driver...99% of the time it is not. Put yourself in the shoes of the delivery driver who is probably making way below minimum wage.
Peace %26amp; Love :)Do I need to tip them?
yes. the tip goes to the driver. the surcharge goes to papa ginos.Do I need to tip them?
Ask them if the surcharge covers the tip.

What could be the opportunity cost of opening a Papa Gino's?
What could be the opportunity cost of opening a Papa Gino's?What could be the opportunity cost of opening a Papa Gino's?
What could be the opportunity cost of opening a Papa Gino's?
very detailed answer that you would definitely have to research. It has to be defined by your area, the need for it in that particular area, etc. look that up on their website. They may have some general info on that site.

The cost of passing up the next best choice when making a decision. For example, if an asset such as capital is used for one purpose, the opportunity cost is the value of the next best purpose the asset could have been used for. Opportunity cost analysis is an important part of a company's decision-making processes, but is not treated as an actual cost in any financial statement..

Is it likely that I'll get a job?
I'm 14 years old and I really want a job. Stop %26amp; Shop, Wal*Mart, Papa Gino's, Walgreens, Dunkin Donuts, Domino's, Sally's Beauty Supply, a local pizza place, and other small stores are within 5 minutes of my house walking.
I get A's in school and I think I'm definitely responsible enough for a job. But I know that not many places hire kids my age.
I feel like I can't wait until I'm 16 though--my mom's going back to school in August 09 and tuition is $14,000, so money's going to be tight.
Soo...does anybody think I could have a chance? Also, do you know any chain stores (Stop %26amp;Shop, Wal*Mart, etc.) that hire kids my age?
Thank you in advance! Is it likely that I'll get a job?
I know it doesn't sound as fun but seriously see if someone has kids you can babysit. I used to make bank watchin my mamas friends kids on the weekends, I way wish I could be a nanny or something(but I refuse to drive so that wouldn't really work.) Or like someone else said try pizza places. I had friends in middle school workin at little restaurants. Is it likely that I'll get a job?
Don't you need to be 15 with your parents permission or something like that?Is it likely that I'll get a job?
When hiring teenagers, employers are reluctant to hire them. If you can convince the employer demonstrate that you are able to perform well, you may have a slight chance, but keep in mind that they will give priority to people who have experience. Working at a local pizza place or small service place is your best bet than big chain business'. Good luck.Is it likely that I'll get a job?
You're too young to get a job at those places. The economy is pretty difficult right now. Even if they did have an opening you're competing with many, many adults who have a lot more experience than you do. Your best bet is to do odd jobs for your friends or neighbors like babysitting and walking the dog etc.
At that age we all got jobs because we had friend/s already working in the chain stores and when I was going for jobs I would say that I know them, or the employer would ask them about other high school friends they know that they would recommend. So knowing someone who is a good employee there helps.

How long will it take to get my money direct deposited?
I just started working at a pizza place called papa gino's last week and last week on Wednesday or so I opened a direct deposit account at citizen's bank and it has been a week and a half now...today is payday friday and i made an online account to check my balance and i dont have the money yet. It is 9:05AM right now..do I wait throughout the day? or should it be here by now? or is it going to take even more days for it to be direct deposited? How long will it take to get my money direct deposited?
Direct deposit should be in your account the same day you would get a real paper check at work. How long will it take to get my money direct deposited?
It will arrive in your account overnight so somewhere between midnight at 6 am it will hit your bank account. So it will not be there today. Check again morning.
Often times your first paycheck is a real check. Plus you may not get paid this week. Some employers pay a week or 2 weeks in arrrears. First paycheck is always a learning experience.

PLEASE HELP ME OUT :( ?
I used to work at a pizza joint called Papa Gino's, which is a chain here in New England. Today, two guys came in, and they were very obviously a couple. Never in my life have I seen people this blatantly gay. Now, I'll be the first to admit that I'm a bleeding heart liberal hippie treehugger commie bastard, but DAMN these two were gay. Everything was going fine, right up until I served them their food. Instead of the usual "enjoy your meal" bit that I usually say
"There you are, guys. Enjoy your AIDS." As soon as that A passed my lips, alarm bells went nuts in my head. But it was too late. I didn't realize what I had just done until I had finished speaking. The two guys just stared at me in shock for a moment, and I went pale. I knew that my days of free pizza and all the Mountain Dew I could drink were over in that one instant.
The two dudes go APESHIT. My manager comes over, and there's screaming about hate crimes, bigotry, lawsuits, and one of them even stood up and threatened to beat the **** out of me. We got into a fight, and my manager got scared, and said you're moving with your auntie and uncle in bel-air.
I whistled for a cab, and when it came near, the license plate said "fresh" and there were dice in the mirror. If anything I could say that this cab was rare, but I thought "naw forget it, yo home to bel-air!"
I pulled up to the house about seven or eight and I yelled to the cabbie "yo homes smell ya later!" Looked at my kingdom, I was finally there. To settle my throne as the prince of bel-air.PLEASE HELP ME OUT :( ?

I've applied to a bunch of places for jobs...what are my chances of hearing back?
I've applied to two local grocery stores, Subway, Papa Gino's, Wendy's, CVS, Walgreens, and Staples. I'm 16 years old and I've never had a job before. How long does it usually take to hear back from them? I haven't heard yet, but it hasn't been that long. I know I applied to a lot, but I really need a job, since I haven't got anything else to do this summer and I can't do the community service hours I was hoping to do.I've applied to a bunch of places for jobs...what are my chances of hearing back?
Since it's the end of school, a lot of kids your age are seeking the same jobs you are, and it's likely that many of them got a head start on you, so there may not be that many jobs left. Follow up each application with a phone call, or visit, and keep trying - eventually a job will turn up.

Who has bettter pizza...?
Domino's, Papa Gino's, or Pizza Hut? what do you think and whyWho has bettter pizza...?
None of those for sure! Stick with the small local pizza shops.Who has bettter pizza...?
Tilley's pizza in Beloit, WI! The best of the best! Thin crust, great sauce, plethora of toppings and so cheap!! Stay away from the chains, mom %26amp; pop are always so much better.
If in NJ, Fratelli's in Piscataway of Stelton Rd! They are the best in that area.
Domino's for sure ..
1- Taste is great .
2- build yor pizza %26amp; order it online .
3- short time for delivery " 25 -40 min .
Actually I order a pizza 2-3 times a week . I would eat everyday if I had a lot of money :)Who has bettter pizza...?
Out of those Dominos just because I like how many toppings there are and that you can completely customise your pizza for not that much extra. However Little Caesars is the best pizza chain in my opinion.
Answerma, sorry, but i don't touch them, I have a local Italian family pizzeria I go to, the taste is amazing compared to what you mentioned.Who has bettter pizza...?
Domino's is awful! Even though they came up with a new campaign touting how they have improved so much. Actually they are all pretty bad. Like another person answered, find a good local Italian pizzeria and you'll get the best.
Pizza Hut! Duh! It has been voted as America's favorite pizza!
Domino's
Pizza Hut fo sho. But it's all about opinion.
Pizza hut has always been a favorite of mine because it tastes so good!
Dominos ftw.
I think hot and a lot of cheese pizza from pizza hut taste well.
i luv the pizza hut's cheesey bites! %26lt;3

none of the above. I stick the local shops that have been there for years. :)

Is D'Angelo Sub Shop related to D'Angelo Grilled Sandwiches?
Here in New England (Massachusetts in particular), one sees two sandwich shops with the D'Angelo name. One has a square green logo saying "d'angelo" with an L made up of a sub. They are very similar to Subway and sell a pretty ordinary menu of subs. The other has a dark red logo saying "D'ANGELO" topped with a half loaf of bread (evoking a sub) with "Grilled Sandwiches" appended to the moniker. They are owned by Papa Gino's now and hold the dangelos.com website. (I cannot find a website for the other d'angelo). They sell subs but aren't sub-centric.
Wikipedia has a piece where they describe the D'Angelo Grilled Sandwich shop precisely, but they provide the logo of the other shop. But this logo does not appear on the dangelos.com website.
Are these two entirely independent chains, or one chain using different brands? If the former, how is it that two company that sell similar products in the same area can use nearly identical names? Is there a licensing agreement? Is D'Angelo Sub Shop related to D'Angelo Grilled Sandwiches?
yeah they are the same company. they are remodeling all the shops in new englandIs D'Angelo Sub Shop related to D'Angelo Grilled Sandwiches?
no, they are two different things..Is D'Angelo Sub Shop related to D'Angelo Grilled Sandwiches?
yes, the grill has the new bistro feel to it...but the food is still the same.Is D'Angelo Sub Shop related to D'Angelo Grilled Sandwiches?
I have never heard of D'Angelo's Grilled sandwiches. If they are like Subway,I know that i wouldn't like them.
The real question is are they related to Deangelis Donut shops in Western PA? They don't make sandwiches, but the best donuts and rolls/bakery goods you'll find on the planet.
I know, this has no relation to your question - but I know how you LOVE it when people answer your questions with non-sensical responses. Can you 'stalk' someone at Yahoo! Answers?
:-) Just kidding folks, we're friends...

no!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! when you go with some one on a trip and you stay there for a while then you can get a slice.Dont gust go there to get a peace. They are finally...?
I am wondering what program you are.

Did I have food poisoning?
Ok, so yesterday I had some pizza from papa gino's, some rustic pizza, but anyways..i ate some and i was fine but 4 hours later i started throwing it back up and after that i went to sleep. After i slept for an hour i had a bad headache and nasuea and i felt like throwing up every 20-30 minutes... and soon i had a fever of 102.4, i was wondering if this was because of food poisoning.Did I have food poisoning?
I think it is just a conscience that you got sick after eating at papa Gino's.
In addition to vomiting, food poisoning also brings on stomach cramps and intense diarrhea.
Also, you would not have a high temp. It sounds like you picked up a viral stomach infection.Did I have food poisoning?
sounds like it.
Yes sounds like it !
Check yourself out, you can also get hepatitis A fom someone handling
food that just relieved himself and did not wash their hands!Did I have food poisoning?
With the high fever, it sounds more like the flu. Usually food poisoning doesn't have a fever but has cramping, diarrhea and nausea or throwing up. Hope you feel better soon.
you definatly have food poisoning.
it would hapen after an hour as it needs time to settle in.
contact the docter.
but be warned
if it is diarear is on the way (sorry i cant spell)xDid I have food poisoning?
Yes, these are symptoms of food poisoning. Depending on the toppings of the pizza i would say it was the cheese since you can't really see mold on melted cheese
This has to be food poisoning, you really should go see your doctor and get it cleaned out. Otherwise you'll be suffering still.
idk it could have been! Or just being regular ill!
Most popular food poisoning is usually only
stomach aches and
diarrhea
haha this sounds gross but a few ppl i know that have had food poisoning have thrown up and deficated at the same time. but if you still have it its probally a bug.
I think you had a 24 hour flu and not food poisoning because you had a high temperature.
yes, it sounds like a classic case of food poisoning. If you are alright now that is. If you are still sick, I would say stomach flu. I hope you are better.

Will some one Please Interpret my dream?
Well it all started in this strange town. I was with my best friend,Sarah. Then all of a sudden a flood happened. We grabed hands and tried to run away from the water. It was chasing us. Then the flood came both ways and separated sarah and I. I guess there was a gate keeping the flood waters in. I searched all around the town for my best friend,Sarah. I couldn't find her until some pushed the flood gate and all the water rushed out. Then when everyone was searching for there loved ones I couldn't find Sarah. Then (it seemed about) hours later and i found her. And we cried together.
Now last night she was sleeping over my ex-best friends house. I was a Papa Gino's with my family then she walked in with my ex-best friend (Ally).
I have been in a fight with this girl for quite a long time now and sarah has always been there for me.
Will someone please interpret this dream for me? I am afraid something happened to her. Will some one Please Interpret my dream?
The gated floodwaters represent your repressed emotions, which are coming between you and your friend. Once you express this flood, it may appear that you cannot connect for some time, after which you wil come back together. Will some one Please Interpret my dream?
What the !!!!!
maybe this will not be true in realityWill some one Please Interpret my dream?
it sounds like you was a little jealous and maybe that's what caused the dream. you know she will always be there even if somethings separate you she will always come back.
Maybe your dream shows that you are afraid that sarah is moving away from you and is going to become your ex-friend's best friend. It also means that she is not as close to you as she was before and somehow, the understanding and relationship between you 2 is weakening rapidly.
or maybe your dream was just a visual of your worst nightmare. Will some one Please Interpret my dream?
your feeling like your being separated from Sarah and your afraid [at least your minds telling you, you are] that your gonna repeat the past like whatever devastating happen with your ex-best friend.
Keyword of advice: Don't try and forget ex-best friends even if they did f*ck you over, because there was once a real reason you chose her. Whether you remember or not, there was.
it means that you have been grabbed with troubles al around you.so much that you even loose some of your good friends, mesg is try not to ignore dear one they are your only real hope.so stict to them as you are one family.without them them you are all alone with much more troubles to face.this is fact.i dont know your background but this tells your dreams meaning.want more mail me teshai6@hotmail.com i do this with no charges as every one does.and no charges to follow.its tottally free.Taimoorkauffman tire

Fast food / restaurant employees, help... ?
is it a requirement to wear gloves when preparing foods? earlier today, i was at papa gino's (an east coast pizzeria) and i noticed something kind of strange. there was a girl putting frozen fries into another container, and she was wearing thin gloves. to the immediate left of her, was a girl making a pizza who was sprinkling cheese and pepperonis on top of the pizza with her bare hands. i am wondering whether or not this is acceptable or does it just depend on the restaurant?Fast food / restaurant employees, help... ?
It Depends on the restaurant and whether or not it's fast food. Burger King sells cheap burgers but once you go in there you notice no one is wearing gloves. The cashiers handle money and have to get the food to you. Their competition McDonalds wears gloves, in order to keep things sanitary. So it really does depend on the restaurant. But I'd say at Papa Ginos some employees are probably required and others aren't. Maybe the lady with the frozen fries needs the gloves because she doesn't have time to wash her hands but on the other hand, the pizza girl is probably one of the chefs who has time to wash their hands and prepare food but do nothing else. Or...The pizza lady was breaking the rules by not wearing gloves.
Hope that pizza girl wasn't making what you ordered ;)

depends. a. they should wash their hands and then wear gloves. however b. its rare nowadays that they enforce it.
c. they should have food handlers cards as well. which TRAINS ppl to wear gloves, and wash hands at least every 30 minutes, between every task, and if you touch your body, face, hair, eat, drink or be merr.. er smoke cigarettes. let alone touching the trash, or wash trays.
and 99% of restaurants are way too busy for ppl to do that 999/1000 times.
well it might depend on the restrunt. i worked at a fast food restrunt called Jack In The Box and was never required to ware gloves but, i did have to clean my hands every 30 min to an hour so that might be how it is there. also theres a possibility that surtan food need to be handled with gloves as appose to others.
hope i could help :)Fast food / restaurant employees, help... ?
It depends on the resturant. Technically yes, but thats just not the way it really happens. As long as they wash their hands it'll be ok.
It also depends on the state and the health department rules in that state.Fast food / restaurant employees, help... ?
It depends on the restaurant. They should be washing their hands thoroughly whether they wear gloves or not.

My hubby took both boys to ~ "PIZZA BINGO"! It is at their school....?
...It's so much fun. What does your child's school do
that you really enjoy?
For three dollars $3 you get two slices of Papa Gino's pizza, a salad and a drink with a dessert, like cookies! Than you get to play BINGO! And every kid get a little prize. They get so excited when they get to yell out ~ "BINGO"!!!
This isn't so much a fundraiser as it is a family event. My hubby took both boys to ~ "PIZZA BINGO"! It is at their school....?
Very popular, tickets are $10 each and sell out in hours. Your ticket admits you to the auditorium where local merchants have donated goods and services ranging from dinner to massages, manicures, baskets of cheer or fruit, a year's supply of whatever, a grocery spree, sporting goods, etc. The tables are randomly set up and BINGO is played with each round going for a specific prize; the winners get each prize as the game is completed. It is fast paced, friendly and frenzied, and it never fails to raise thousands of dollars for the school since the moderator also sells 50/50 chances throughout the night. The refreshments are low cost, and you are encouraged to bring your own munchies for the table to share. It is most definitely a much anticipated FUN annual event that many schools in our community organize. Your Pizza Bingo sounds great too!My hubby took both boys to ~ "PIZZA BINGO"! i like going to my daughters preschool to see her sing and play in little plays with the other kids :)

Have you ever skipped a day of school?
Today, I pulled a Ferris Bueller. My parents went to work and I "drove" to school...NOT. I actually drove to the Movie Store... and picked up a few movies to watch. I then went to the grocery store and picked up a bag of Doritos and some Dr. Pepper. Then I went home, ordered a Papa Gino's Pizza and ate 7 slices!!!!
oh what a day, my parents still aren't home from work.
This was the best day ever!
What was your best "skip" day memory?Have you ever skipped a day of school?
Well both my parents had work and I told them I was "sick" and I sat in the living room all day watching billions of movies.Have you ever skipped a day of school?
sounds like an awesome day!
have i ever skipped a DAY?? more like almost an entire school year, haha. i won't tell you what i did because i might be judged.
but it doesn't matter anymore because i graduated and who cares, lol.Have you ever skipped a day of school?
Ahhhh! those good old memories....skipped school to be @ my boyfriends house a few times :DHave you ever skipped a day of school?
every week
Haven't really had a great skip day yet... A week ago I was sick one day and got better that night (after my parents went to bed). Then I woke up the next day at 7:23 (2 minutes before final bell at my school) and decided I was going to still be sick.

i had this same question a month ago, and did research into it, menshealth.com helped me out A LOT. i used this diet
http://www.menshealth.com/cda/article.do鈥?/a>
and ate 6 times a day as well as followed this workout schedule
http://www.menshealth.com/cda/article.do鈥?/a>What are some healthy foods at?
there are many websites that can help you but basically you need to eat fruits, vegetables, fibre (whole wheat, brown bread), protein (not always meat), and dairy(cheese), stop eating at fast food restaurants, if you are, and try harder to eat at home. get easy recipes at foodnetwork.com and when you eat try to eat slower and chew more. don't eat at least 2 hours before you go to bed. these are just simple tricks, you dont have to do them all as long as you try ...good luckWhat are some healthy foods at?
i assume that you want to eat what is at work. have a huge grilled chicken caesar salad without the dressing, eat the veggies that go on pizzas and subs, eat the deli meat (stick to chicken and turkey). stay away from bread, crust, bacon, lots of cheese, fried things. drink water or diet sodaWhat are some healthy foods at?
Fresh fruit and vegetables are the healthiest foods for sure. Whole grains and legumes (beans) are also important healthy foods. If you can find a place nearby that has a nice salad, that would be a good option (just watch out for the dressing! sometimes salad dressing can be very unhealthy, just read the ingredients--if it sounds confusing then don't eat it.) What kind of restaurants do you have nearby? If you don't want to eat at any of the restaurants, then bring your own healthy homemade lunch! Snack on healthy fruit and vegetables, and bring some healhy granola bars for when you need something more filling.
The key to eating healthy is avoiding overly processed food (things like white bread, most pasta, pizza, sugary foods like croissants, cakes, scones, cookies, processed meat products like most hamburgers and hot dogs and honestly most red meat in general you shouldn't be eating. and SODA! Avoid soda, it's just sugar water that will make you fat before you know it.)
Feel free to add some more details about what kinds of stores you have nearby, as well as foods you like to eat and I can help you find the right foods for you.
