What kind of gas mileage would this get its a rock crawler and its a suzuki samurai, good daily driver?

Also what kind of problems do these have, are they reliable and do I need a roll cage since they roll so easy, how much is a roll cage and

to have it put in? what do you think about this car good deal?

They had very small (1200 cc) engines, which gave great miles per gallon. (about 30 highway if memory serves) The disadvantage was the vehicle had very little acceleration and no top speed which was probably a good thing due to the short wheelbase and high center of gravity. Together that's an accident waiting to happen at highway speeds. The roof panels and "Targa" roof that splits the 2 soft tops in the picture are actually a roll cage. The problem was that in a roll over they whole body would become tweaked. Roll once and never drive straight again.

If you are looking for a toy and plan on driving slow, great. For anything else you're taking your life into your hands. Crawling rocks? I wouldn't, but the narrow vehicle might be able to weave between them. I checked the one linked out and it's been modded to be pretty decent, but that picture is obviously staged and not real rock climbing. You get that thing leaning and it will go over sideways. The larger (1500cc) engine from a Sidekick gives it more torque, (and lower mpg) but it's still in the skinny body. (The wider, longer Sidekick replaced the Samari because of the roll over problem and lawsuits against Suzuki.)

For desert, snow or even swampy off roading I'd go for one. For rock climbing or running steep side hills, I'd be very afraid of this vehicle.
