The only thing I saw on his web site is that he wants a 9% sales tax, but it is not defined.

For example, some states do not tax food and clothing and medicine. Is Herman Cain intending to tax those items too?

I'm concerned about that. My husband and I are approaching retirement age and our earnings are going to be fixed. Will a new car be taxed too? Does that have to be paid at the time of registration?

The meal tax in restaurants in my state is already 9%. Imagine having to then pay 18% on eating out when the fed tax combines with your state tax. On top of that, tips? Do you think the income of waiters and waitresses would be effected by such a large jump?

Sounds like the selling pizza plan to me. One large pizza with four toppings for only $9.99!!!! It's that attention grabbing sales thing that Papa Ginos or, oddly, Godfather's pizza would use to get you to pay attention and clip those coupons. I haven't read up on all of the details, because I don't think it will happen.

Your income tax would only be 9% so there is a savings to pay the sales tax. The "RICH" would pay for their purchase just like you would pay for yours.

The main thing it would help business because they would know their costs so they could hire knowing what their taxes would be for the next ten-20 years.
