What happens to the forward momentum of the plane?

You are a passanger on a jetliner that is flying at a constant velocity. You get up from your seat and walk toward the front of the plane. Because of this action your forward momentum increases. What, if anything, happens to the forward momentum of the plane? Give your reasoning.

well..wouldnt the forward momentum of the plane remain the same because youre the one whos walking around, but the plane is still traveling at a constant velocity so you dont even feel it unless you look out the window or it accelerated or decelerates. what else would you include in this answer? thanksWhat happens to the forward momentum of the plane? The forward momentum of the plane would be reduced by the amount of your forward momentum. Think about it - the force that you use to accelerate yourself forward must act to decelerate the plane.

Don't imagine that you could feel this happen in a jumbo jet.

You might notice it in, say, a rowboat next to a pier. If you walk to the front of the boat to step onto the pier, you could find that the boat has been pushed backwards by your motion, and the pier no longer near. What happens to the forward momentum of the plane? It decreases. It can be felt when several passengers suddenly shift forward or back at the same time, or if they are all walking and stop suddenly. What happens to the forward momentum of the plane?IMO, theoretically, the total momentum remains the same because the you just form part of a closed system. As energy doesnt leave the system (disregarding friction) there is no change in the state of affairs. However your locomotion within the closed system will tend to upset the aircrafts CoG and might cause variations in the flight dynamics, the intensity of which will depend on what fraction is your weight with respect to the aircraft. What happens to the forward momentum of the plane?
For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction, therefore your shoe pushing back on the floor of the airplane would have a miniscule slowing of the airplane.
