I would have to leave on a ASAP flight (when im ready, no buy 5 days before flights) as It would be for a family death which is imminent. You also have the additional problem of going from one out of the way airport to another . This is going to cost you time and money

Suggestion : Get a flight from Hartford [ BDL } to Los Angeles { LAX ]

Its1/2 the price of Albany to Ontario. You should be able to drive the 110 miles from Albany to Hartford in under 2 hrs

That's how I got to go to my grandma's funeral a few years ago. The airlines use to offer cheap fares in situations like yours, but I do not know if they still do. I would find out what carriers fly to your destination and call their customer service department. Contact some of the bigger airlines and see what they offer. Jet Blue, ted, Alaska and Southwest all fly into Ontario - not sure about Albany. Priceline.com always seems to have good prices. ONT is a very nice airport - as sad as your reason for travel is, I hope you enjoy your trip - it's very warm here - be sure you have comfortable clothes!

check on website http://www.jonesboroinfo.net/Hotels.html they have several listings there for discount travel and last minute travel.
i would find what airlines fly that route, then go to their individual websites and thats normally where the cheapest fares are found

Most of the answers above are good. Call all the airlines that fly there. Don't do it on the web, call there 800 number.
