My neighbor is selling his '88 Suzuki Samurai and I'm interested in buying it. The problem is, some of my friends think it's a "chick" car. I don't really see it but some people say it's not. I don't know what to do. Could someone help?!?!Is the Suzuki Samurai a "chick" car?
I used to own a Suzuki Samurai. It was a great truck. The only problem is that they are short on power and the top speed on mine was only 73 mph. My was a 1987- which was carbureted. In 1988, they were fuel injected and they went up to 4 horsepower (up to 66hp from 62 hp). The plus was that the fuel injected model had a top speed of 80 mph. Still not fast but now that my highways have speed limits of 65-70 mph, it gives you a little extra to work with. Check to see if that one has a carburetor or not. Early 1988s had carburetors; 1988 1/2 models had fuel injection. These are definitely not chick cars. Do a searc on them and see how many are heavily modded. These are still used in some of the roughest areas of the world. They can climb hills that Range Rovers and Wranglers can't even climb. They do it slowly but they do it. It's a true offroad truck even if it's short on power. Sounds pretty manly to me.Take off the top and have fun and if you have A/C like I did, you'll discover that it will even freeze you out even in 98% weather. No joking. They are really reliable if they've been taken care of. If that one has the rear seat, you're lucky. Nowadays, finding one with the rear seat is a rare find. In fact, they discontinued the rear seat after 1991 I believe. Is the Suzuki Samurai a "chick" car?
That's a great car. A real man doesn't worry about what others think about what car he drives. He does his own thing - what makes him happy. So you probably aren't ready for it yet dude.Is the Suzuki Samurai a "chick" car?
