Lets say a figure skater has a competition somewhere far away and decides to take a plane ride there. Since they have to take their skates along (obviously) the skates would probably be considered weapons because they have blades. What would they have to go through in security checks? I always wanted to know. What does a figure skater have to do to get through security for a plane ride?I think it would be ok if you shift it with your baggage don't take it with you on your seat, lot of people doing so.
good luckWhat does a figure skater have to do to get through security for a plane ride?Back in the day.... :) I used to just put my skates in my carry on....A) because skates are SO expensive and B) because if I got to my destination and my skates didn't, I was in trouble!! Unfortunately, air travel has changed since then. To be safe, I would call your airline in advance or even the TSA. Can't hurt to ask. They may ask you to check them because of the blades. If so, be sure you have a luggage lock to protect those bad boys while they're in your bag. :)What does a figure skater have to do to get through security for a plane ride?Skates have to be checked baggage and go in the hold. It's not like they are huge - they'd fit easily in a suitcase. What does a figure skater have to do to get through security for a plane ride?
They just pack their skates in with checked luggage. They can't carry them onto the plane.
