my fella used to have a Suzuki Vitara, and at the time bought a SJ/Vitara Haynes manual for it.
he now has a soft-top, Suzuki Samurai, which he has had a while and is spending money on modifying it and making it into an even better offroader than it already is!!
I would like to know if it worth buying him the other Haynes manual - Suzuki Samurai/Sidekick/X-90, as a stocking filler. Is it better for the Samurai? is it a lot different to the Vitara manual? and will it help him on his project?
Many Many thanks
Sticky xHaynes manual - Suzuki Samurai/Sidekick/X-90?
They are the same.
The Vitara/santana/SJ book is the same as the Trakker/Sidekick, they are just different names for the car. Vitara is the uk spec name, Trakker is the U.S name. If he has the Vitara book no point buying the Trakker book.
I have the following book and if he's new to off roading and hes serious about it its well worth having
Haynes manual - Suzuki Samurai/Sidekick/X-90?
My experience with Haynes manuals have taught me that they have just enough information in them to get you in trouble. Go to http://www.helminc.com/ and get him the factory manual instead.Haynes manual - Suzuki Samurai/Sidekick/X-90?
Helms was a good try for the factory manual but the vehicle is too old.
So, go straight to Suzuki and get one....

In a pinch the Haynes will help but not much difference between the 2 vehicles.
