Try using a propane torch to look for vacuum leaks. Open valve on torch (do not light) point towards carb base and around intake manifold and vacuum lines. If rpms increase you have found a vacuum leak.

Check for rusted fuel lines alsoMy suzuki samurai 1987runs poor suspect carb. any suggestions ?
The gasket or plastic piece between the carbs and engine could shot(porous) letting too much air into the mix. You can easily check this out. It's messy, but will tell you if this part of your problem. Just paint a coating of oil on the gasket and then start it up/ If it runs well after, replace the gasket. Hope this helps out, GRUMPY
