88 Suzuki Samurai Shaky Steering?

i have an 88 samurai with shaky extremely shaky steering.. it starts at about 20 MPH and doesn't mellow out till about 50 then i can hardly tell it shakes. i have checked the wheels non are bent. they are not balanced but i think that it is way to violent of a shake to be a balancing problem.. i switched the front and back wheels and i still have the problem. it is almost uncontrollable at speeds of 30 and 40. please help. thank you88 Suzuki Samurai Shaky Steering?

Does the steering wheel move side to side? if it does then I haven't seen anyone mention a tire separation?

That's when your steel belt start to separate from the carcass of the tire,

and can cause violent shaking until higher speeds.

but blow out is eminant.

take your hand and with light feeling pressure feel around the entire circumfrence of the tore for a high spot, it would be better if you coulld raise the car off the ground.

Replace any seperating tires.

Jack up your vehicle and check to make sure that your tires are round. A car can shake for many reasons.

It can be out of alignment.

It can have bad tires which are out of round.

It can have rims which are bad.

It can have a bad wheel bearing.

It can be because of a flat spot on the tire.

It can shake because of out of balance wheels.

I would take it to a reputable alignment shop and have them check it out.

I saw a car that had bad springs which affected the ride.

Your frame could be out of line and cause bad vibrations.

If you hit a curb, bumper block, or bad spot in the road it can affect the vehicle.88 Suzuki Samurai Shaky Steering?
i would say its your tie rod ends....jack up truck off the ground in the front and see if wheel wobbles side to side that's the best way to tell
